OK, so on June 1st I started reading the Bible, cover to cover...and I finished on August 13th. PRAISE GOD! 73 days...17 days short of my 90 day goal. If you have never done that, you really should, AMAZING what you learn! ... mainly, what IS there and what ISN'T there! Sad thing what "the church" has done to God's word. The things we put major emphasis on while totally ignoring the things that are clearly high on God's to-do list! Example, there is one scripture about "forsake not the gathering together" (going to church) and we make a HUGE deal of it while watching what we say has to be in there 100s of times (a lot anyway) but we continue to spew trash, without any remorse!
Anyway, back to the summer of hell part ... One thing you can always depend on is the devil showing up when you are trying to draw closer to God to try and throw you off course! EVERY week this summer has seen its share of "stuff". It really is comical...will he never learn! God is my provider, my comforter, my peace! NO WEAPON will prosper and ALL THINGS worked together for my good!
As soon as I started the 90 Bible reading challenge the following happened.
- Home AC went out... it took 3 attempts, 2 different repair companies, 3 LONG MISERABLE hot weekends and $4000+ to fix!
- Car AC went out ... $1100 to fix
- Got sited by the Cobb county "Your grass is too tall" police (yes they do exist!) so I had to spend $130 to get that taken care of!
- Computer at work crashed w/ virus (thankfully that didn't cost me anything!...just another annoyance)
- Computer at home crashed! Way more of a pain than the work one going out! Had to take it in for repairs...was w/o PC for 1 solid week!!! But, PRAISE THE LORD it was under the extended warranty so that $135 was free to me !
- Yesterday my car was DEAD...but praise God for AAA...they were here in 15 minutes, got it started and I was off to work....where, once the car was turned off...it was DEAD AGAIN! AAA came back and replaced the bad battery with a new one...for FREE! (it was a AAA battery still under the 3 year warranty...good only 2 more months :-)
What the devil refuses to understand is that God always shows up and shows off when he starts his stupid stuff.
THANK YOU FATHER GOD!!! I LOVE YOU LORD! PRAISE YOUR HOLY, HOLY NAME!
