At least four days this week I have woken up with the Spirit singing to my spirit:
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise"
At first, I didn't know what it was or where I had heard it... then I realized that I had been listening to MP's latest CD so it must be on it...sure enough, "I Will Rise" was track 8.... not one that I even focused on....You know, it's one of those songs you have to get past to get to the one you really want to listen to ... When I woke up to the song again this morning I decided to find all the words:
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise"

'I Will Rise' - Chris ThomlinThere's a peace I've come to knowThough my heart and flesh may failThere's an anchor for my soulI can say 'It is well'
Jesus has overcomeAnd the grave is overwhelmedThe victory is wonHe is risen from the dead
[Chorus:]And I will rise when He calls my nameNo more sorrow, no more painI will rise on eagles' wingsBefore my God fall on my kneesAnd riseI will rise
There's a day that's drawing nearWhen this darkness breaks to lightAnd the shadows disappearAnd my faith shall be my eyes
And I hear the voice of many angels sing,'Worthy is the Lamb'And I hear the cry of every longing heart,'Worthy is the Lamb'[x2]
[Chorus:]And I will rise when He calls my nameNo more sorrow, no more painI will rise on eagles' wingsBefore my God fall on my kneesAnd riseI will rise"
I think the song writers were saying several things with the song... It's probably a good funeral song, and an overcoming song or a good second coming song .... but, the thing that is pulling at me right now is:
Easter if fast approching, PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! stop everything and give Jesus the honor and glory he deserves during this season! It is NOT about bunnies, and hiding eggs and gift giving!!!
It is about our Lord and SAVIOR dying on the cross and rising again three days later! FOR YOU!!! Honor him! Please don't insult our precious Lord by "playing" this Easter. If you have a hard time getting your mind wrapped around that, watch "The Passion" again. Alone, no distractions.
"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone." (Hebrews 2:9)

Ten Commandments
- 1. You shall have no other gods before me.
- 2. You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
- 3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
- 4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
- 5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
- 6. You shall not murder.
- 7. You shall not commit adultery.
- 8. You shall not steal.
- 9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
- 10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
